Harnett County’s First YMCA

– UPDATE 11.1.2019 –

Harnett County and the YMCA of The Sandhills has announced it will be bringing the very first YMCA to the residents of Western Harnett. The RAYWEST DESIGNBUILD team is humbled to take on a project of this caliber and is looking forward to a finished product that will serve the community for years. The new YMCA will replace Cagle Furniture, a fixture that has stood alongside N.C. 87 for nearly six decades.

RAYWEST DESIGNBUILD is extremely excited to be assisting with the $3 million project, bringing the first YMCA to Harnett County residents, with a scheduled completion date of late December 2019!

RAYWEST is transforming the outdated furniture showroom to include an indoor pool, 6,000 SF fitness center, gymnasium, yoga center, basketball court, child-care center and nursery, and multiple community classrooms.

The facility exterior is really taking shape and will soon have LED signage installed for all to see. The 4 lane, 30′ x 75′ indoor swimming pool is nearly complete, just needing the final coat of concrete. Thank you to our friends at Spa and Pool World for high-quality excavating, forming, and concrete pouring! Get ready to cheer on your friends and family, because the basketball court flooring is next on the list after just installing the goals.

Our team can’t wait to share the final product of this soon to be community fixture. The new YMCA will be a place for residents of all ages with affordable day care, team sports, active adult programs, and more! The YMCA will also bring job opportunities to the area.
